    What to wear in bed?

First camino I wore tomorrow's clothes. Second one, only brought one pair of hiking pants and leggings. Wore them to bed and when my pants were in the wash.

How much weight did you actually carry?

At the Santiago airport, my pack weighed 6 kilos. That did not include any water of course. I would have loved to carry no more than 10%, but that would mean 5 kilos, which may be impossible. There are hardly any things that weren't necessary - maybe it could have left a few hundred grams at...

    Water bladder troubles

Thanks Doug (and everyone else). Won't it being constantly wet cause a problem over 40 days? Seems like a problem. Anyhow I will rinse it and/or use tablets as others suggested.

    Water bladder troubles

Thanks Kanga. I do like water bladders in general, I feel like they distribute the weight very comfortably (being small and not too strong), and I like having water so accessible. And this particular type is really great, other than how difficult it is to clean. I will look into those tablets. :)

    Water bladder troubles

Hi guys. I'd love to hear your tips about this. I have this Osprey water bladder: http://www.ospreypacks.com/en/product/performance_1/hydraulics_3_liter_reservoir During my shorter (2-3 days) hiking trips and practice walks I've grown to hate it. It's not easy to empty, dry or clean, because of...

    Essential items to leave behind?

I also leave in September! When do you start walking? Also, no short sleeved shirts? Avoiding the sun? Could be wise but you might be way too hot... I choose to bring two short sleeved shirts and one long, so if I'm cold I can wear it over the short one.

How much weight did you actually carry?

I suppose water and food aren't included :) Please share your secrets!

My Camino Un-Packing List – The gear I had on reaching Santi

Thank you for this! I just bought a pair of boots - just the type you did, one of the only leather-free boots available... And I found this list looking if anyone used the Mumur Hyperlight on the Camino and had a positive experience with it! So... This is incredibly helpful to me. Thank you. I...

    Another Backpack recommendation request

Thank you, Mark. Like you said, it's a guideline. I'm not planning to drill holes in my toothbrush if that's going to make it 5 kg (though I respect those who take the time to do it, I'm just too lazy). But this pack is definitely going to help me keep the weight down. So thanks you for the...

    Another Backpack recommendation request

I've been learning so much from all of your posts, really I appreciate every experienced peregrino/a here spending their time and thoughts into this. Thank you all! You're simply wonderful. I've got a backpack question myself. The 10% rule only leaves me 5 kg to carry with me. And that includes...
