Tilleys no matter how they are configured have floppy wide brims that bend easily. They are expensive but are guaranteed even against loss. Some of the survival stories in Tilley lore are astounding. They also make a variety of shirts, shorts, pants, underwear socks and vests. I am a Tilley...
I don’t know if this will be helpful or not. I have arthritis in both thumbs and get the most relief from wearing compression gloves. I am not sure how that translates to swelling in the legs or even if it does. The secret for me and the swelling/pain issue is not to wear the gloves all the time.
I use a hostel bag. Very light down filled side and the other side is a sheet. My caminos have been June to October.
Modesty is ensured for those who worry about such things.

I have never taken one however need might be your prime consideration. For example I need access to blood testing equipment and medications. My pack has a connected front mounted bag that allows immediate access to what I require. No real decision to be made as I deem it necessary.
If you deem...

No "between the toe" flip flops for me. I take a pair of nike shower shoes,as they have an over the foot velcro strap.
I have used ecco sandals along with my hiking shoes.
Waterproof boots and shoes are only useful if the water does not go into the footwear from the foot opening. Whether or not they should be used is another topic.
Gaitors might prevent water entering over the top during rainstorms but Weather was always warm enough that gaitors would have been...
Good morning,
The bag I use is called a hostel bag and the two sides are made of different materials. The first is like a bedsheet and the second a quilted down filled cover. When zipped you can put either side on top depending on requirements. I know of only 1 company that carries it here in...
I bring a mini leatherman multi tool that has scissors, two blades, pliers, corkscrew, awl and can be leveraged to open bottles. It's also extremely quiet during operation.

I take a set of noise cancelling ear phones. They work wonders. Not so much of a help to those around me although I seldom snore. My wife says my snoring is alcohol related. I disagree, it's relaxation related of course, at least that's what they told me at my last meeting
Multi use cellular phone and charger is my choice. I keep the phone part turned off. Use wifi when available.
Hint: leave the albergue just after pilgrims who have a torch if it's dark.
Check out Aarn backpacks. They have attachments with front pouches that allow access to water, cameras, med supplies, and just about anything else you need at hand.
