This year i will try this travel blanket https://www.cocoon.at/en/products/travel-blanket-ef803637a79b652f25bb658159af8eb3-1 also there is merino version .
I have done the Frances wearing ultraventures 3 in 2023 . Half size up was enought for me . I was wearing injinji socks(trail running series) , no blisters but i rarely get one tbh .
My first Camino in 2018 was a great experience except for one part - the equipment .
I was extremely unlucky with my choice of shoes and backpack :)
I solved my shoe problem when I bought Keen Newport sandals from the Caminoteca store in Pamplona and walked with them until Finisterra . I wish I...
Last year my backpack weight was between 4-5 kg food and water included .
I was with Mammut ducan 30 l . The backpack is 890grams which is pretty good for backpack with frame imho. I also carried 1 l of water .
Compared to most of the pilgrims on Frances I was ultralight I guess :)
I have a pair of hoka transport and overall they are great I use them for my daily walks 10 kms +, the outsole runs out pretty quickly and I would like to have more space for my fingers… but for Camino especially 2 + weeks I will go with something different.
I would recommend a sun hoodie with upf50 .
I like walking with shorts but last 3 Camino I bring https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-terrebonne-joggers/24540.html?dwvar_24540_color=NUVG&cgid=mens-pants-jeans
Peregrine 12 have rock plate if I am not mistaken , try something with more cushion and lower drop - 5mm . Hoka Topo have such models . Sandals -Keen Newport H2 , in 2018 I walked almost entire Frances with pair of them .
Last year I bought 2 pairs of Injinji socks in Pamplona , the store is called Caminoteca and it is just a few meters away from the municipal albergue .
I walked from Los Arcos to Finistera in pair of olimpus 4 with injinji socks . The only blister I had was caused in one really hot day on my way to Najera I just put leukotape on it and change it every couple of days from there on .
Did you consider yourself walking with injinji socks only ? Why do you need 2 pairs , are you prone to blisters ? Sorry i never used Vaseline and 2 layer socks system , but also never had abhot spot or blister which can’t be fixed with leukotape :)
I finished CF 2 weeks ago in pair of altra olimpus (33mm stack height) yes there was some paths where they put small rocks material and it was fine for me but honestly the asphalt was way worse .
With altra it is always the same super comfortable the first 200 / 300kms and then the cushioning is...
1.LS+rainjacket day is fine .
2.Depends if you need to bring something specific , my first aid kit is leukotape + magnesium .
3.Again it depends how much water you drink + how long are your stages . Still I think that more than 1 liter bottle is overkill even in June/July . There are a lot of...
Well if by any chance you have Iphone 11 or newer you can activate Esim (if your provider offers this option ) . Then you can buy physical Spanish sim card and use it while in Spain . I don't see a reason why you can't recieve your text if you have roaming on your main card . Here is a list of...
