Yes go for just airing if it works for you. Depending on when you walk though...in the winter months they might not dry very fast, and you really want them to be dry before you put them back on as it’s the moisture that will cause problems.
Re. Powerbank. I brought one and it was a bit heavy. I only needed it a couple of times but when I did - boy was I glad to have it!
It was pretty much my only non-essential item. I could have done without it but it was nice to have it.

Yeah I get that! My pack last year was a 45l Decathlon pack that weighed about 1.7kg. Not ideal but I couldn’t afford a better/lighter one. I still managed to have a packed weight of about 6.5kg.
I’m just saying one should agonise over a 1.5kg pack if it’s otherwise suitable, fits well etc.
