The only sound a pilgrim should produce is their footsteps on gravel, which sometimes can’t be avoided.
Using poles without rubber tips is one of the most annoying and irritating habits on a pilgrimage. Worse is loud chatter and hysterical laughter, worst is a JBL boom box hanging from your backpack and destroying the peace of the sorroundings. My humble opinion :)

I wear hiking boots - LOWA Renegade Goretex Mid. 6 Caminos and a lot of other walking, almost 10000 km in 5 years, am on my third pair.

On my first Camino Frances I had a Kindle with me. Pure deadweight. I didn’t use it a single time. After 10 days, I sent it home along with some other useless stuff. Had to throw it away afterwards, because the monitor was damaged (probably from moisture, we had a lot of rain the first 10 days...
I have walked the Camino Frances in May, June, August, September and October. Have only used a liner (and sometimes a blanket from the Albergue), never wore extra clothes or anything, and was always warm enough.
But I guess it depends on each person, their blood pressure, how quickly they feel...
