One of my main pieces of kit on any hike, whether wilderness or camino-like! Sun and rain so dual purpose too.
Always carry an ultra-light umbrella anyway, so it's worth the extra grams. Does away with needing one of those big ponchos too.
I carry an ultralight Sea 2 Summit inflatable pillow because I get a sore neck if the pillows are night the right height.
Pillows in Spain can be very narrow and high too so I'd definitely recommend taking your ien if you have neck issues.
Highly recommend the Windy Maps app that's available on Google Play. It actually has all the caminos marked and saved my bacon a few times on the VDLP.
It's free too. Absolutely no need to pay for any apps when there is so much information available for free. I use a combination of Gronze.com...
I have always bought Anker power banks, usually from Amazon. They have been consistently awesome and highly recommend them for weight and power. I have recently upgraded to a 15,000 MaH one and it charges my phone over 4 times.
Other power banks that I have bought have not charged things as...

I prefer my Talon 46 which is an...

I had a Vodafone simcard and rarely had no signal. I also managed to get a fantastic deal of 8GB for EUR15 as a new customer!
Cannot remember any albergues that didn't have wifi either!
I was a big fan of Crocs, but I dont hike with them anymore because they are too bulky and a little heavy too. I use Flippers brand flip flops/jandals because they are feather light, even more than Haviannas.
The most important thing for me is to be able to slip on any night footwear without...
Decathlon gear is actually great if you don't intend to use it long term, although they do stock some quality brands too. I think their real value is the very cheap hiking poles that can be pretty much given away at the end of a hike. This means flying hand luggage only is a possibility, and...
