As a Lone Peak user I find an added or replacement insole of help. This may necessitate a half or full size increase in shoe size...
I slide a thin, hard, arch support insole underneath the supplied Altra insole.
The hard nature of the arch support insole acts as a rock plate while it's thin nature minimises problems with fit.
IMO arch support is very important, especially for those new to longer distance walking.

Who are you calling crazy?
You could get kicked off the forum for that!
Anyway......Drilling holes along the handle of your toothbrush is common sense.
It's like look after the grams and the kilos will look after themselves.
Watch yourself cobber, relse I'll pot you to the mods.

I have used the Talon 44, my first pack, for several years and found it most comfortable.
Experience has had me gradually decreasing the weight/volume taken, and arthritis of the feet has increased the need to go Ultralight.
I'm sticking with the Talon, but the Talon 33, effectively 31litres due...
GERALD???
I would advise that I am not... nor do I ever wish to be... a GERALD!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Having now dispensed with that slight annoyance , I would advise that I consider your new choice to be somewhat admirable. For my requirements just unnecessary and over budget. Whatever, it will over time lose...
Last year I purchased a popular 2.5 layer, DWR rain jacket.
I had decided this particular model would suit my needs adequately, both in terms of efficacy and price.
We have this 2022 summer, here in Australia, been subjected to the assault of a particularly wet weather pattern.
Where I live...
I previously used an Osprey Talon 44 litre and am a confirmed bottom stuffer.
Downsized to a Talon 33 litre this year and bought lots of new replacement gear.
It compresses rilly rilly small, and I prefer not have to do the crush squeeze into the compression sack every morning.
I'm hoping to...
I've had the Aegismax Wind Hard Ultralight Quilt, about 550gms, very compactable, for about 5 years.
Love it. Roomy, being rectangular, featherlight on top of you, toe box that can be open or closed.
Always warm enough on the CF September/October. About US$100 when I bought it from Aliexpress...
The lightweight one, unless you are one of those determined souls, insistent on ploughing on, head down, hour after hour, into the storm.
Us less determined souls, will do an hour or two of such hiking, then, conscience suitably satiated, we will head inside upon finding a warm comfortable...
1, Spray only the outside of the sleeping bag.
2. Keep you arms inside the bag. (Best of luck with that)
3. Spray both the inner and outer of your pack.

I replaced the ALTRA LP insoles with aftermarket models that provided arch support as well as (unexpectedly) more protection against rough terrain.
Now that was a good idea.
Wonderful! Do you recommend getting a size larger for Camino, or is true-to-size roomy enough to accommodate swelling?
I'd suggest you try a half size larger in the wide sizing. Mix and match size and width to ascertain the most suitable.

Hi Barry
Here's an interesting video that may prompt a few ideas.
On the CF I carried one 500ml water bottle in each cargo pocket. Topped up at every fountain, as well as drinking even if I didn't feel I needed to. Now I utilise pocket on shoulder strap.

If weight is a matter of serious concern, take the puffer. If not take the fleece. Fleece are lovely and snuggly.
Being a spring or Autumn walker, I always take my down quilt or my sleeping bag. Never a liner as well. You can always wear additional clothes at night for warmth.
I'd take only a...
I have, during lockdown, acquired the everyday blessing of painful arthritis across the top of both feet. In hoping to help continue walking it is my intension to try lessening the weight carried.
The idea of a trailer of some description is gaining positive traction.
I would like to offer my...
