I wore Vibram™ 5 finger shoes
when my boots were off.
They were light but the soles were sturdy enough to replace my boots in an emergency.

I went to a Vodafone store in Pamplona to get a SIM card for my IPhone7. They installed it and tested it out before I left. I later stopped in a Vodafone store in Leon to top it up. Coverage on the Frances has been good most of the time.
Most if not all of the alburgues have a wifi router...
I met a family from Australia that were pushing their 11month old in an industrial grade 3 wheeled stroller along the entire Camino Frances. They should be in Santiago by now.
The father was getting concerned about the front wheel bearings going over some of the hills though.
