I've used Teva Tirra's on all of my Camino's but on the PCT last year I wore bedrock sandals which are much lighter than Teva's and with a vibram sole. The only reason I didn't bring my bedrocks on this current Camino is because sometimes I like to wear socks with sandals and the bedrock sandals...
Hi Maggie,
Yep, I had my first skirt delivered to the UK and I didn't have to pay any import charges. (I'm not sure if I was lucky or there's just no charge on it though?)

The longer I walked, the more my stomach decreased and the longer my skirt became ;) ... but that's what's so nice about having a yoga waistband, it could never fall below my hips :)
I second the purple rain skirt :)
I bought one for my hike from Mexico to Canada last year on the PCT and wore it every single day (160 days), then walked the Camino Frances in it in November and it still looks brand new :)
It has terrific pockets - they fit my iphone, purse, passport, hand...
Hi Sabinep,
This is a great, light gear list :) If you wanted to shave an extra 110gr off, you could look at the Sea to Summit Ultra Sil day packs instead of the shoulder bag. I have one and it fits all my stuff in it for taking into the shower (toiletries, change of clothes, camera, phone...
Does anyone have any experience with the Patagonia Sol Patrol shirt? (I need something for walking through the desert on the Pacific Crest Trail, not camino).
Rohan would be my second choice.
Thanks & Buen Camino!

I changed to pacer poles 2 years ago and haven't looked back, I absolutely love them.
I have a bad knee so I rely on them ALOT when walking downhill. I find they keep me more upright (I usually start to slouch with a backpack on) and they also give me a boost uphill. I love the handles and...
Lush shampoo bars for me too with the square container (the round one that fits perfectly makes it too tricky to get out after a few uses). I use the bar for hair and body.
I use a separate Sea to Summit biodegradable liquid wash for clothes.
Buen Camino!

The last 10 days of walking the Primitivo in October, I walked through non-stop heavy rain. I was wearing wet weather pants, an eVent waterproof jacket (waterproof for about an hour)!, and waterproof shoes, but nothing stays dry walking day after day in endless rain. I even resorted to using a...
I walked from the beginning of May last year into June and it was an exceptionally cold spring (snow / hail etc) but what got me through was having my icebreaker sleeves, http://eu2.icebreaker.com/en/mens-gloves/quantum-arm-warmers/IB6B41.html?dwvar_IB6B41_color=001&cts=001
I used these with...
Hi Joe,
I walked from Lisbon - Santiago in June/July this year.
I bought a prepaid SIM card at Lisbon airport from the Vodafone counter for my iPhone 5 - just make sure your phone is unlocked. The SIM card cost €25 for 1GB of data, unlimited texts and about 300 minutes of local calls. I also...
Thank you for your advice, please keep it coming!
AmmieM - do you know how much the Teva Toachi 2 sandals weigh? The Teva Terra Fi Lite sandals I've seen online are 400 grams but it looks like this sandal isn't sold here in oz.
Thank you and buen camino.
Hi Guys,
I'm starting in SJPP in May and I'm looking for a new pair of sandals for showers, evenings and in the event something happens to my boots, for the trail as well. I have a pair of keen sandals now that I adore, but they're too heavy and they start to smell after a while too.
The guys...
