I feel ya, brother. I, too am on a biologic due to Crohn’s Disease. All I can say is what works for me. As my daughter says, ‘you do you’. I leave for my Camino Monday (Franćes). I’ve been training for the last year. I used Injinji toe liners with Smartwool socks (two layers). I did 1040 km of...
Thanks Susan for the info. I tried to buy it through the Forum Store, but check-out told me that “Shipping” would take 2-3 weeks and I’ll be on the Camino before it gets to me; also said the only place to pick up in person was Santiago de Compostela. But I do appreciate the info. Buen Camino.
Since context isn’t really understood apparently, I should have simply asked if a high quality poncho is simply available to PURCHASE in SJPDP, since the cost of “things” might be less expensive than where I live (US).
Ok Pilgrims, quick question. I just paid $39 for a Poncho at a local outdoors store and I’m already planning to return it, because I just saw another Pilgrim say they only paid €4 for one on the trail. So my question is if they do, in fact, sell ponchos in SJPDP for that kind of price.
Please...
I’m with Verizon (in the US). They want $10 per day to use my phone internationally with limited data. With a 30-40 day Camino, that’s more than I care to spend. I’m planning to use the free WhatsApp to make calls when I have WiFi (Albergues), download an eSIM for my phone when I wanna use data...
Sorry if this seems trivial, but I leave in 26 days for my first Camino (Frances). I’m finalizing my backpack items figuring what makes the honored Final Cut. Question: I was gonna bring a reusable lightweight bag for the trips I might make to a supermercado for food items. Should I do this, OR...
Buen Camino. I’m also from the US and committed to doing my first Camino (Frances) about a year ago. Very first thing I did was start thinking in Metric—-especially distance—Km—. To help, I downloaded the free app “Units Plus” from the Apple App Store. It’s helped a lot. Now when I talk to...
For what it’s worth, I wear Buck Naked brand from Duluth Trading Co. They’re highly breathable with ample room down there. They’re NOT made of cotton, which is good. You don’t want to get all sweaty and start chafing!!
For what it’s worth, shoes are very personal but I swear by my Obos. In my training, I’ve put a little over 1000 km on them without much wear and no blisters. They’re waterproof and have proven themselves hiking through mud. Make sure you buy at least a 1/2 size bigger than what you normally...
