The Lone Peaks were just not suitable for the first half of the rough VdlP terrain. Not enough cushioning & support rendered ankle pain. Got some Merrill trail shoes & they’re great. In Zamora at the moment & shoes working well.
I’ve had the same question, Thermolite plus silk sleep bag. I’ve just bought a new sleeping bag, Mont Zero 230, not cheap but will be worth it & ‘comforting’ at the end of the day. I start from Seville at end March & expect some cool nights.
