This business of how light can I go seems to me to be a race to the bottom, why not just go Reacher on it and just bring a toothbrush in your pocket, forget about getting into trouble with weather conditions...

I have washed all my merino gear in a regular 40c wash for the last 10 years and have had no problems, I don't tumble dry them. Any problems I have with them are normal wear and tear.

Just plug in and charge. If you look at your phone charger it will say Input 110v -240v Output 5.1v or suchlike so it doesn't matter what voltage supply you use.
