    LePuy help, please!

I went to LePuy via Lyon, which was pretty straightforward (train to St. Etienne, and train to LePuy), so no help there. The stretch you are talking about is indeed strenuous, but nothing worse then the Norte/Primitivo. Time tends to put a rosy glow on things, but I do think they are pretty...

    Two weeks

I have walked the LePuy route and the Norte and if I was to choose between the two for a two-week walk I would also recommend starting in LePuy. It is a fabulous walk and you will be getting the best half of LePuy to SJPDP, in my opinion.

    Le Puy to Santiago questions

Here's a post I made comparing the two routes. https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/le-puy-and-frances-compared.36958/#post-368534

    Le Puy to Santiago questions

I have also walked both routes, but not in one go. I walked the Frances first, and the LePuy route the following year. The main thing I would say is be prepared for a *major* culture shock after St. Jean. LePuy is kind of "we happy few" and the Frances is…not. I loved both but they are very very...

Accommodation recommendations GR65 Le Puy to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port ...

I walked from Le Puy to St. Jean in the fall of 2015. It was a wonderful trip. Stayed in some great places. Everywhere listed below was good. Le Puy. Grand Seminaire St. Georges has very inexpensive single rooms. Huge place, moody and atmospheric. Right on top of the hill in the historic...

Selection of unguided tour operator - Le Puy to Conques

I'm not sure if they offer Le Puy tours, but we used CaminoWays on the Francigena and they were very good.

    Le Puy and Frances compared

Hi Ray, I felt most comfortable calling ahead for all lodging. It really calms my mind to know where I am staying and that there will be dinner served. It allows me to slow down and maybe sit on a bridge for a minute longer than I would otherwise. Also saves last minute surprises like a gite...

    Le Puy and Frances compared

Hi Everyone! I just returned from doing the Le Puy route from Le Puy to St. Jean, walking from late September to late October. I am a medium to fast walker and it took me 30 days of walking to make the trip. I did not take a full day off but did take two short (10K) days as rest days. I walked...

How to end, walking the LePuy Camino?

For sure walk from St. Jean to Roncesvalles if you can. The experience of being a weather-beaten pilgrim at the end of your trip out on the trail with a bunch of first-timers will be cool, and that stage is just stunning. The albergue at Roncesvalles is really special and would make a great end...
