Cahors - St Jean Pied de Port
Hi Julie, I notice that this is your first post, so welcome to the Forum :) . I've walked from Le Puy twice and, as you have worked out from your Topo guide, there are, as far as I remember, no really difficult parts from Cahors onwards - certainly nothing like the climb out of Monistrol...- brendan nolan

When to start?
Hi Anna-Marie and welcome to the Forum :) I've walked the Le Puy route twice and it's beatiful but tough. I walked during April/May and that was a busy time in 2005. I heard somewhere that the GR65 wasn't too busy in August so starting mid to late August shouldn't be too bad for accommodation...- brendan nolan

Hi Darrell, :) You could start at Geneva which, I believe, is the actual start of the GR65 which goes through Le Puy and on to Spain. Cheers, Brendan- brendan nolan
