@rdwpongratz ,
after completing my solo , first and only Camino walk from SJPP in May/June 2022, at the age of 72, over 34 days of walk,I stayed three days in Santiago and went to the cathedral, every day, hoping that I will have the chance to see the BOTAFUMEIRO swinging live, but it did not...

on tired and blistered feet on the Camino ( CF)

Around what , .. how long ago ? ,.. was the last time you saw the BOTAFUMEIRO swinging at 7.30 pm mass ? I thought he was telling me honestly, because he also said that the those volunteers (nominal paid) have to be arranged to be there for the swing , etc,.. etc,..

Thank you Jodean ,
I’m determined to go back to Santiago from Malaga ( I go there for 6/8 weeks in winter) to see it in person
Even if I have to go as many times or stay inside the cathedral for every mass .. 😆 till the Botafumeiro swings .
Wishing you a good day ! 🇨🇦
I could be wrong, but my information on about to see BOTAFUMEIRO swinging, one has to pay 450 Euros about week in advance and you will get the time about when they will swing it, you get 10 reserved chairs to sit , watch and enjoy. Wish I had 450 Euros to spare , or anyone need one more...

Walking the Camino ( from SJPP)at 72 ,in the first week of June 2022, was a gift, once in a life time, nothing could get that spiritual high . For, three days after completing my Camino , went to the mass, just to have a glimpse of the BOTAFUMEIRO, but was not lucky to witness it live. Oh well...
sad and pathetic , went three days to Santiago Cathedral mass after completing my first Camino at age 72 from SJPP, hoping luck will strike to see it swinging , but.. how many chances one have in life from afar ? I understand , it is at their discretion to make it swing or not. Disappointed...
Maryloufrommedison ,
you are absolutely right about the Camino walk, and I agree. But the thrill and joy to complete the walk , a rare gift in life and the BOTAFUMEIRO would have made my Camino almost perfect. Just my take on it. Missed it,
Captain Bonnie ,
My first wish to get to Santiago on the CF from SJPP was without injury and other health issues, and the second was to see the BOTAFUMEIRO swinging, after spending thousands of Euros on the Way to Santiago in France ( 3 days) and Spain (total 46 days ) I was hoping to be lucky...
After completing my CF from SJPP two weeks ago , I stayed three days in Santiago and every day I went to the Mass, hoping and searching for the group who.. (or the Cathedral will swing the BOTAFUMEIRO,..) may need another person , for cost reason to join them , because I wanted to see the...
