    Accommodation in Lisbon?

    Alpriate is closed. For ever.

    Camino Fátima albergue issues

The albergues between Porto and Fátima are the same as between Fátima and Porto on the Caminho de Santiago. Take a look at gronze.com or albergues.vialusitana.org There are blue arrows pointing the way to Fátima. Very few pilgrims, yes, very few. Unless you walk beginning of May or beginning of...

    New Albergue in Lisbon

That "albergue" closed end of 2018.

    Alpriate Albergue

No Bombeiros at Alpriate. The Bombeiros in Alhandra were not accepting pilgrims, although sometimes they do. Don't make plans to stay there. Of course you can try, but no assurance they will accept you.

    Alpriate Albergue

Yes Laurie. The Albergue in Alpriate will open March 18. There's a man in town who might rent a room with a double bed. Ask at the Café. Pilgrims have to keep walking 8 more km until Verdelha. :(

    Public Albergue in Azambuja

You still have on the list the old one, closed since 2016. The new one: 12 places, 5 euros (at least), Rua do Espírito Santo nº1, signed since the entrance of Azambuja as "Refúgio do Peregrino". The phone # is the private phone of person in charge of the bureaucratic affairs of the Albergue, not...

    Public Albergue in Azambuja

Janene, the actual Hospitaleira Voluntária will be happy about that. I'll let her know :-)

    New albergue in Alverca?

Fundação CEBI is in Alverca, but usually you have to call ahead, closed on weekends. Anyway, phone them in advance, just in case. (+351) 219 589 134

    Camino Portugues

There are some outdoor shops selling backpacks. Not very good stores though. I mean, there are some chain stores, Decathlon and Sport Zone, they tend to sell mainly their own brands. Affordable prices but not really state of the art stuff...

    Camino Portugues

Nope. But there will be a place to you, don't worry. Just in case, email the albergue about that, one or two days before :) albergue.alpriate (at) vialusitana.org

    Camino Portugues

Yes Laurie. 20-21 km from the Cathedral. The place was chosen because of that, you can walk out of Lisboa in a relaxed way, plenty of time to enjoy your first walking day.

    Camino Portugues

    Love you Laurie !!

    Camino Portugues

There is an updated Albergue list on http://albergues.vialusitana.org in Portuguese though. The english version is still not updated. Next week, hopefully. BTW, there will be a new albergue just outside Lisboa, 20km from the Cathedral, in Alpriate. A (very) small house rented by the ViaLusitana...

New: Albergue Rainha D. Tereza in Albergaria-a-Velha

Ooooohhhhh :((( I'll be in Santiago again in June, for the Associations meeting. In July I really don't know yet. We'll work it out, I'm sure.

New: Albergue Rainha D. Tereza in Albergaria-a-Velha

Had a (big) ice cream with Diogo yesterday. I'll be in Santiago from the 1st to the 9 or 10th of May. Bom Caminho

Two new albergues between Lisboa and Porto

The Cernache Albergue, yes, I was there at the opening. They have the water heater on the ground floor, that's all. The showers are right over it, it's safer to have the thing away from the bathroom, and easier for replacing the butane bottles (!?) Everything is on the up floor. The garage is...

New: Albergue Rainha D. Tereza in Albergaria-a-Velha

Hello Laurie (et al) it's been a long time... Yes Via Lusitana is staffing the Albergue in Albergaria-a-Velha. 21 places, 8 euros. There's a fantastic hospitaleiro there, Joaquim Donario. (In Albergaria it's called Alberguista)
