Of moment i dont know wich route to go, this will be decided when i am there and depending to the local waether. Anybody of you there at the same time? I am a german guy, 48, doing a camino first time.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I should advise you to keep an eye on the weather and walk the first day from Porto Matosinhas to Vila do Conde 20 kms alongside the ocean. As we did and than decide to follow the coastal direction Viana do Castello or to go inland to São Pedro de Rates.
Walking along the coast with north western wind and hardly any social contacts with locals nor other peregrinos (you only find deserted summerhouses by that time of the year) made us decide at the very last moment when we walked over the bridge in Vila do Conde to go inland to Rates. We did not regret but on the other hand do not know what we missed. So are planning to do the coastal in 2015.

Viel spass und stärke gewünscht bei Ihrer Entscheidung

Hi Albertinho,

your experience is exactly what i heard from other pilgrims. I think, following your advice and doing coast next summer would be better. I have 14 walking days, excl. traveldays. So i´m not under big pressure and may, if necessary, i will take a day off. And maybe my camino is ending in Finesterre or Murxia. Last year was a lot of rain in march i heard, so i hope for something better ;-)
