Hurry up and get there before the crowds arrive in earnest! This is an unofficial statistic, I think, and may be somewhat inflated, but the article says that 2000 walked it last year.

The waymarking is now excellent, the accommodations adequate (but mainly private, though very cheap), and the scenery outstanding. Laurie

I suppose that is not a bad statistic. It means that on average around 5.5 persons per day walked the route. Hardly a constant stream, so not one would notice in the local streets.

No way I was thre last year and saw so few pilgrams. But its Beautitful! most likly be there again in late june/july. buen camino!
