Hi, everyone.
Ultimately, where the question below is concerned, I’m sure I’ll improvise and work things out for myself. Still, I’d welcome your thoughts.
Last year, as mentioned in other posts, I walked the coastal Camino Portugues from Porto as far as Vigo. It’s my intention to return this year, and complete the walk to Santiago. In all, I should have 9-12 days of walking available to me, leaving plenty of time to get to Santiago, and then continue on to Finisterre or Muxia (or both).
But now I’m starting to think…what about going from Vigo to Santiago in really short stages, let’s say a dozen kilometres or so a day, and taking longer than “the norm” to do it? I’m considering this because, as much as I enjoyed my 20 kilometre days last year, I often felt like I was passing through towns and villages where I walked more than getting to know them. Were I to walk for just a few hours a day, perhaps I could be more present on the way to Santiago, even if that might mean foregoing that appealing final leg to the ocean.
And then there's the possibility of adding the Variante Espiritual.
One thing's for sure...this is a very nice "problem" to have.
So...thoughts?
