Air Europa

Hi all,
My Dad and I are going to be flying in to Madrid next week and are looking for flights to Fatima, where we're going to start our walk to Santiago. Flying seems to be less hasslfe and cheaper than taking the train, and we've found some insanely cheap flights from Air Europa, but there are lots of negative reviews out there and they seem a little unreliable for booking. Does anyone have advice about this? Thanks!
Cath

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Hi there,

I think Air Europa is just fine.. when you say reliable, you mean delays? Iberia is the worst (in my experience) when it comes to delays.. If Air Europa has a good price, I would book them..

Buen Camino!

I'll second Ivar's opinion. I've flown Air Europa at least 5 times on short flights either from Madrid or Santiago, and they have always been fine. And you get one free checked bag, which is nice if you are coming or going somewhere where walking sticks are not allowed as carry-ons.

From Lisbon there are plenty of bus options to Fatima, from the main bus station at Sete Rios. There is a train station in Lisbon near the airport, and I think Fatima has a train station as well, but I believe it's a very long way from town, like 10-15 miles or so. So bus is probably the better option.

Buen camino, Laurie

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thank you both! And thanks for the advice on the train to Fatima, Laurie, as we were thinking of taking the train, but might take the bus instead now!
