The Alsa road passenger transport company reports that on the occasion of this year Xacobeo 2010 it has launched "The bus of the Camino de Santiago", in order to meet the transport needs of the pilgrims.
"The Pilgrim's bus" is a specific search engine allowing pilgrims to Santiago to plan their trip based on their place of residence, the start and end of the road between the more than 100 towns served by Alsa, services network point since many of the lines of the operator are coincident with the different Jacobeas routes. http://www.alsa.es/portal/site/Alsa
To do this the single traveller should access alsa.es and choose first the Jacobea route (road French, North Road, silver route...) they want to perform. You must then select the starting point of its first stage, and finally, the return from Santiago to your origin city. The search engine will give you the best choice to the chosen path.
Transport of bicycles
Also, Alsa advises that it makes available to the pilgrims bicycle transport service to many travellers (in 17 per cent) who choose the bicycle to Santiago. The company has also undertaken training specifies among his staff, both points of sale and telephone, to provide adequate information and assistance to pilgrims.
The celebration of the Holy year - event that is not repeated until the year 2021 - will be an important increase of pilgrims, estimated at 250,000. This means that people compared to a normal year twice will arrive to Santiago de Compostela, either declared world heritage by Unesco.
