Time of past OR future Camino
Planning to walk the Camino (Frances route) in April 2017.
I know it's a long way to go yet, but I (and my bf Christopher) have planned our Camino for April of 2017.
We're from the Seattle area and both very excited (we're and already talking plans and gear.

I just thought I'd say "hello!" and see if any one else is planning that far out too!

Buen Camio everyone!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Be careful:). I thought I was going in 2010 and starting buying gear. Four years later everything is lighter and better. I have either replaced,it or reconciled myself to having "gear envy":). Leaving in 3 weeks!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

:D Hahahaa thanks! I know, I already have an REI wishlist for 'ideas'. I plan on doing quite a bit of pre - hiking in my local area, so I don't mind re-placing gear! ;)

I know! Three weeks left and I am going to REI today where I will look at two ultralight packs. Mine is 6 lbs empty (good, but older LLBean) and if I could cut that weight a little my knees would thank me! I have quite an assortment of daypacks but only the one multiday pack.

Hey Sammie...I'm actually from Seattle as well walking the camino May 9. There is no place like the REI in Seattle. For the past 4 months it's been like my home away from home.

2017 will be here before you know it.

I just bought a new pack at REI, 2.6 lbs. my knees are happier already:)!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Emonty just curios what pack you picked for the blessed camino. I have had my Osprey Kestral 48 for over a year ever since I became focused that it was a calling. Fits like a glove. I have some asolo boots that are full leather, but I am starting to get concerned about it getting too warm for them so I plunged & purchased some non gortex keens. 3 weeks to put some serious miles on them

I got an Osprey Exos 58. I was looking for the very newest Osprey in Backpacker this month but it wasn't there. I think I will like it very much. I had an old LL Bean pack, very sturdy but it was about 7 lbs and I needed to cut weight. I have boots/leather and Gortex that were great but I put in new insoles, and suddenly blisters. My other boots, Asolo, synthetic and lighter, are going to get a chance, but they are a little shorter although I only feel it on the downhill. I did try to Moleskin/Benzoin treatment yesterday and was able to walk with full pack comfortably. Nevertheless, don't want to be starting with half-healed blisters!

For sure!!! The South Center one is much closer to my home, but it just doesn't cut the mustard! I usually only use that one for online pick up orders.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
