Has anyone out there had a triple arthrodesis? My ankle is becoming increasingly painful and the podiatrist says this is the only option left. I had two angle surgeries which failed and I have two broken/bent screws in there that can not be removed. The surgery ends up with me still having movement on the x and y axis but no ability to yaw. In other words, flat terrain no problem, but if I step on a rock, my foot remains level, and can’t angle upwards(or downwards). Anyone having this done, your input would be appreciated!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

While there are some great surgical podiatrists out there, I would suggest you also be seen at a well known foot and ankle center (orthopedic MD who specializes in foot and ankle surgery.

A friend had a procedure which sounds similar to (or perhaps more than) the one you describe. After a stroke his left foot drooped so he had the ankle fused. He walks virtually normally now; although it took a while to adjust. He switched to an automatic car; otherwise life goes on as normal. It was a ‘better than the alternative’ procedure.
