ATM Machines Between Burgos and León

Time of past OR future Camino

Hello. Can anyone offer insight as to the availability of ATM (cash) machines in the little towns between Burgos and León? Thanks!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Don't worry, enough of them. For instance : Mansilla de las Mulas, Castrojeriz, Fromista and Carrion de los Condes to name only a few.
I prefer to withdraw money from the ATM inside a bank during opening hours. That way when something happens with your card they can retrieve it.

And Sahagun. You should have no problem!! And I have had the best luck sticking with Santander Bank ATM's when given a choice. They have a large US presence in the NE. Where in WA are you?

Yeah ... Santander has least issues with limits on withdrawls, fees etc.

It was the same in Mexico ... no hassle banking. The other banks don't always provide the same level of customer service.

Thanks! This is a huge help. In the past I have been through some small towns - such as Molinaseca-without an atm and it made things...challenging.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I agree on the use of Santander Bank. I had no trouble banking last year once I began to use that bank exclusively. In addition, other threads recommend withdrawing cash well before you run out. I kept 100 euros in a different location from my regular cash stash as backup if I had trouble getting money for any reason. If you can manage a word or two of Spanish it may be helpful to be able to ask, "Donde esta el cajero automatico, por favor?" that is, "Where is the ABM please?" Don't let yourself run out. Buen camino.

I never found the ATM in Molinesca, although when I asked a kind gentleman gave me some mixed nuts. Very generous. After Burgos, Fromista, Carrion Sahagun. Ami missing one?

Most of the café/bars will help you out with a cashback scenario.Buy a coffee and charge it to the card. Ask for cash. Never had a problem with that.

My strategy for making my way through towns without ATMs was to just make sure I never got below 100 euro, that way if I hit a "dry" area, I had at least 3-4 days worth of cash on me.
