Hi all - is there an auberge anyone can recommend in Getaria? I was thinking of an overnight stay in Zarautz but prefer smaller places, hence Getaria - anyone an opinion on this? Thanks!

The albergue Kanpaia is about a half km up hill and out of Getaria (cute town with some good restaurants, btw). It opens in mid afternoon if I remember right. Gronze has a very up to date list of accommodations, and there are some amazing little places coming up — La Rectoral in Priesca, O Xistral after Abadín, the donativo in La Vega de Ribadesella, Albergue Casa Carmina in Muros de Nalón.... that wasn’t in any order except the order in which I remembered them from my Norte last year. I was surprised at how many beautiful albergues there are in places that are essentially out in the middle or nowhere, or at least in very small towns, which you say you like.

Ah wow thank you so much for your reply and the great tips! Will follow up on Kanpaia :)
