I will ask them tomorrow but I really have just realised it and seeing as I was browsing the forum anyway I thought I would ask if anyone had any first hand knowledge. Thanks for your reply. Why don’t you contact the albergue and ask them? Or just book elsewhere for that night?
Thankyou. The picture of the bedrooms shows the beds with sheets on them - so probably?
I remember that they had blankets, but I don't recall if they had sheets. We are very excited as we start our first Camino next week. Originally we planned to do this in 2020 and bought lightweight sleeping bags for our trip. Obviously everything was cancelled. This time round and largely because of covid we have booked private rooms and so therefore we are not planning to take the sleeping bags , however I have reservations at Azofra municipal albergue (as it has 2 bedded rooms) and have only just realised that there will probably be no bedding. Can anyone confirm if this is the case and whether it is possible to rent sheets.
Yes, but they are usually disposable sheets, not real cloth sheets. My experience is that most albergues have always sheets but not all have blankets.
Yeah, most have disposable sheetsI remember that they had blankets, but I don't recall if they had sheets.

Thankyou, I have already contacted them at least a month ago and they were fully booked, it seems lots of people are after private rooms this year.I don't know the answer to the sheet question, but I do agree with contacting the Albergue directly to inquire. If the answer if that there isn't and you don't want to carry something (liner, bag) another option would be to see if there is room at the Pension there. You can phone or email them to inquire if they have availability.

Regardless of the sheet situation, I would highly suggest at least a lightweight sleeping bag LINER. That way, you are covered (pun intended) and protected a little more than direct contact with sheets or mattress. !Buen Camino! We are very excited as we start our first Camino next week. All the shops are shut here now and we leave in the morning . But it’s a good idea , I am sure we should be able to find a liner in an outdoor shop in France/Spain before we reach Azofra. Thanks we may well do that and Elizabeth-o has suggested a sleeping bag liner so I think we will try to buy a couple before we reach Azofra. If sheets are not provided you could buy a pack or two of the disposal sheets from an albergue somewhere before.
That’s great news, thank you for replying. I think I will also look for a sleeping bag liner . Thanks again.I am at Azofra right now! We have got disposable sheets and there are blankets. I have booked just three days ago.
Boutique du Pelerin in SJPDP or Caminoteca in Pamplona should have them. Or a Decathlon store in Estella or Logroño.All the shops are shut here now and we leave in the morning . Thankyou, we will try to see the gardens.I found a picture I took of my room at the Azofra albergue. It looks like a disposable sheet was given to us.

While you are in Azofra be sure to visit the botanical gardens
Thankyou for the suggestions, it’s very helpful.Boutique du Pelerin in SJPDP or Caminoteca in Pamplona should have them. Or a Decathlon store in Estella or Logroño.
That liner will come in handy wherever you start. You could take a twin-sized sheet...fold length-wise and sew across the bottom and up the open side. Of course, you may not have time today. All the shops are shut here now and we leave in the morning . But it’s a good idea , I am sure we should be able to find a liner in an outdoor shop in France/Spain before we reach Azofra. Thanks for the suggestion.
The pictures of the rooms I saw showed real sheets/pillow case and a folded blanket. But again - I am only going by a picture - not actual experience or a verification of facts.I remember that they had blankets, but I don't recall if they had sheets.

Thankyou, we have decided to get sleeping bag liners and they will supplement the disposable sheets hopefully. All packed now and ready to leave in the morningThe pictures of the rooms I saw showed real sheets/pillow case and a folded blanket. But again - I am only going by a picture - not actual experience or a verification of facts.
Last year I think I had 4-5 albergues with real sheets. The rest had those flimsy disposable sheets.

Buen Camino!Thankyou everyone for your replies. Very mixed answers so still unsure. Have been really busy today preparing for the morning ( we fly to Bordeaux ) . I have contacted Azofra a few times between other jobs but no reply. Will continue to try but might just bring our lightweight sleeping bags anyway. Thanks again.
Thankyou.Buen Camino!
Thanks so much for your reply. I will remember to WhatsApp people if I have any questions. ThanksI saw all this back and forth uncertainty and went to my tried-and-true method of connecting with people in Spain. I sent a WhatsApp asking the question and had an answer within an hour. This from the same people who haven’t responded to emails sent days ago. I say this over and over, but I’m just trying to get the word out, not browbeat. WhatsApp is hands down the best and fastest way to connect with acommodations. Not all owners/hospitaleros use it, but if they do, they are likely to respond very quickly.
Anyway here is the definitive answer:
”We give a disposable lower sheet and piillow cover, plus bedspread and blanket.”
Happy for your Camino beginning soon! Sometimes when no sheets are already on the bed, the will give you disposable one.We are very excited as we start our first Camino next week. Or Decathlon, which are in most cities in Spain, you can find the Quechua version. I used one on a couple of caminos, they are very soft and comfortable. They help regulate temperature too, by being breathable fabric. It's also lightweight and easy to squeeze into backpack. If you want good quality real silk liners in a range of different colours/patterns (not just white), there is a company that makes them. However, the standard white cheapy will do the job, and here is a picture:I have stayed at the Albergue in Azofra twice. They don’t have sheets (would be too much to expect for a 10€ bed ..). They might have disposable paper ones, I don‘t remember.
I usually don’t take a real sleeping bag with me. However, I take a silk liner (artificial silk). Weighs practically nothing, is warm enough for me (your body temperature keeps it warm inside), it is good protection when the beds aren’t fresh, and they dry in a matter of minutes after washing. Recommend you take at least those, costs 5–10€ on Amazon.
