Bikeiberia - bike return in Santiago

I'm very excited about a hotel that we reserved very close to the cathedral, but bikeiberia said that they cannot pickup our bikes because the hotel is on a pedestrian street and the carrier service can't access the hotel. They are insisting that we find another hotel. I have offered to make ourselves available to meet them in a main street. But they are refusing and giving no other options than changing our hotels (they did not provide hotel recommendations)

Does anyone have recommendations on what we could do (and still keep our hotel)?

Which hotel are you intending to use? They have picked up from my hotel in the pedestrian area before but it may be the hotel rather than the area. Have you considered Hospedaría San Martiño Pinario which has a whole area for bikes and even stores empty SEUR bike boxes. Bike Iberia tend to use SEUR.

We have reservations at Hotel Montes - a cute hotel only 1 min from the main square of the cathedral. While I would love to stay at Hotel Montes, I will also try to get a reservation at Hospedaría San Martiño Pinario as you recommended. Thank you very much!

The bike rental company that I have successfully dealt with in the past is cycling-rentals. The last time I rode into SdC, I, too, stayed at a hotel on one of the pedestrian streets. Bike collection was no problem! In the past, the only issue that I’m aware of is whether or not your hotel has the space to store a bike prior to pickup. I’ll be renting again from cycling-rentals this June and had no problems arranging with them a hotel pickup of my bike in Santiago. Changing bike rental companies may not be an option for you. However, it it is, you might want to check with other providers. Good luck bicigrino!

This is absurd, not at all a problem. The fact is that people cycle in pedestrian streets all the time. If you prefer not to do that, you can walk with the bike to the main street and off you go.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
