Time of past OR future Camino
CF (2018)
My husband and I are walking part of the coastal route, Porto to Vigo, from September 1 - 9. Is is necessary to book albergues in advance? We have started to book but would really prefer some flexibility on sone days in the middle. Thank you in advance.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I am just finishing the coastal route. I have had no issues reserving a room or bed for the next day.

I would check to see if there are any holidays then, also when do kids go back to school and look on booking.com to see if prices from August to September have gone down. I personally would have no idea as I do not walk that time of year. I know May and September are the busiest months on the CF, not sure if that is true overall but would not be surprised. The municipal albergues are first come first serve. I will walk this route in November so I have checked in Gronze.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I have just started the Camino Portuguese from Porto with no plan. I have just booked the next three days in advance and had no problem. I don’t know yet about further down on the route or about other months.

In Portugal there are some privat albergues In Spain more municipal albergues which you cannot reserve on beforehand
