Hi all, just a last minute check. I am flying into Santiago tomorrow but need to catch the bus to Ponferrada on Friday morning. Can I pay the bus driver or do I need to pre book or get a ticket from anywhere? Also I am staying in PR Fornos tomorrow night, is the bus stop near here. Appreciate any info :)

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

I'd be tempted to book. I left a booking from Oviedo to Leon until the last minute last year and ended up missing the bus I wanted because it was full.

There is also a train from SdC to Ponferrada.

I didn't realise there was a train to Ponferrada! Do you think booking a place on the bus tomorrow when I land would be time enough? I can't make head nor tail of the bus website :( thanks so much for your replies also x

Your Empresa Freire bus from the airport stops at the bus station. It also makes a stop at the train station ... which is closer to your destination at PR Forno ... and terminates at Plaza Galacia ... at PR Forno doorstep.

I have no idea how subscribed train and bus services are. I note there are several per day so its more likely a question of how bad is it if you have to wait for the next one.

I had to get the slow train to Astorga (5hrs) which stopped in Ponferrada, it wasn't very busy at all. The express was fully booked. I'm not sure the train was actually going quicker than I walked...
