Any experience / recommendations on finding a bus or other transport from Santiago to Valença on a Saturday? I'm hoping to be in Valença on Saturday, 18 March, so I can start there on Sunday, 19 March.

Rome2Rio is showing services by Alsa and Rede Expressos. The ALSA appears to have three services leaving on 18 Mar. Their website is www.alsa.es.

I have done this a couple of times. The bus drops you a short distance from the fortress. Nice easy ride.
