Sil, for various reasons, the bulk of the material that I've read on the Caminos, including the guides that I take with me when I walk, has been in Spanish, original/translation. Frey's book, I concur, a classic, is one exception. Thanks for the names you suggested, will check them out. Some, that I've enjoyed (Fiction/Non-fiction) are: Fernando Sanchez-Drago's "Gargoris y Habidis," Jacques Chocheyras' "Ensayo historico sobre Santiago en Compostela," Jesus Torbado's "El peregrino," and Herbers/Plotz "Caminaron a Santiago." I have no idea if they have been translated into English. You may enjoy this (Spanish language) cyber bibliography: http://www.bibliotecajacobea.org/contenidos.html Best, xm 8)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
