I have no idea when it will be possible to do this as my kids are all ages and I can't see them volunteering to do this one with me. And when you live in Australia it isn't as though you can easily zip back and forwards so I would have to do it in one hit.

There are Camino routes that pass through the Netherlands. The Martin van Rossumpad hiking path passes through Hattem, which is where my Dad comes from. I have been to this part of Holland before to visit relatives but I have never hiked there. I still have cousins there. So starting in either Zwolle or Hattem is a very attractive thought. Then I noticed that it continues to Tiel where a very good friend of mine was born. I can speak a little conversational Dutch and pick it up very quickly in a Dutch speaking environment.

I wouldn't mind heading towards Paris as there are still a few things I want to see there that I did not have time for last year (the Orly, Versailles, and the cemetery where Nureyev is buried). Then head to Spain. Does anyone know a route that passes through Rodez? I would love to visit one of my French Camino buddies there and Aveyron sounds absolutely stunning. I would then hit the Norte. Then divert onto the Primitivo and head to Santiago. And if I am not all caminoed out by then, walk out to Muxia. I need to work out all the stages.

At least that's the fantasy. My kids think I am bonkers anyway. They are probably right.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
The Chemin de St. Jacques (Le Puy route) goes through Aveyron near Rodez. Keep planning! You will find a route that suits you.
