Camino Francis - 10 May 2018 - 04 Jun 2018
Hola, I'm starting my Camino from SJPDP on Friday 11 May 18. Flying out of Sydney on Tuesday 8 May, arriving in Madrid via Qatar Air AM 9 May and then travelling by bus to Pamplona for an overnight stay, then onto SJPDP on 10 May.

To help with planning I've transcribed a list of villages and their distances onto an Excel spreadsheet so that I can plan my daily travel, which also leaves flexibility if I want to walk less or more k's. I've attached a PDF copy it if anyone finds it useful for their planning purposes and would like the xls version, email me directly.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Carrying a list like that and seeing the distances 'to go' would be even more demoralising than seeing those distance markers along the way !:eek::eek:

Next time I pass those signs I'll close my eyes ;);)

But nice work by the way ...:)

Hi Pete,

I am flying from Brisbane on 7th May 2018, a night in Madrid, a night in Biarritz and then off to SJPDP on 10th May and walking SJPDP to Roncesvalles on 11th May. Planning to be in Santiago by 17th June with a few rest days along the way in Pamplona, Burgos, Leon and Sarria. I'll look out for you!

This is my first Camino journey and I'm counting down the days.

Hi PDiddy, we should definitely cross paths somewhere, I'm staying in Pamplona on the evening of 9 May and SJPDP on 10 May, planning to walk to Roncesvalles on 11 May. I haven't planned any rest days but have enough time in my plans to do so. Pete

I wonder if anybody has actually walked exactly how they have planned it? We are starting 03/05/18 and we will just go as we go

hi, I am leaving Sao Paulo in 11th and reach SJPDP by night 12th. I am planning to reach Santiago in 20 days, so maybe we can cross paths somewhere.

My Camino starts May 6 or 7, depending on the time of day I arrive from Paris into SJPP. Going via Valcarlos, but not in any rush. My plan is for 40 days or more but will also go to Muxia and Fisterre as well.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi Pete, my wife and I are starting our first Camino from SJPDP on 8 May. I have downloaded your list of distances and am sure it will come in handy on our walk. Thanks for sharing it. We are staying at Orisson on our first night to start off slowly. I expect you might pass us along the way so look forward to saying hello.
