Hello
Getting ready for our first Camino in a month!!
We just saw a picture of the cathedral in Santiago with scaffolding & heard it is closed for repairs.
Is this true?!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
There was someone on Facebook posting that the cathedral was closed and services were being held in a nearby church, which just sounded strange. A number of people tried to point out that they've been to mass in the cathedral in the last six months.

The Mass is not always at the High Altar but sometimes in a side chapel but like already stated : always in the cathedral.
Here are the hours.

But if you have some time to spend in Santiago then I would recommend you to visit some smaller parish churches too. Lots of choice!

Scaffoldings? All the time. That happens with old buildings.
Actually, you can see (at least, most of the time) how are the facades and main altar of the cathedral -live.
See http://www.santiagoturismo.com/camaras-web
Be patient, because apparently they can support only a limited amount of viewers.
Good sights!
