It hasn't been closed while the restoration work is underway, but there may be some restrictions on where you can go.

The facade is being cleaned and repaired but the Cathedral remains open and in full use.
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

There was someone on Facebook posting that the cathedral was closed and services were being held in a nearby church, which just sounded strange. A number of people tried to point out that they've been to mass in the cathedral in the last six months.

The Mass is not always at the High Altar but sometimes in a side chapel but like already stated : always in the cathedral.

But if you have some time to spend in Santiago then I would recommend you to visit some smaller parish churches too. Lots of choice!
