Time of past OR future Camino
(2014)
I am planning on walking the Camino Frances April or May 2014. I am a novice long distance
hiker and welcome any and all advice. I've been researching topics but really seek the advice
of those that have actually experienced it. I am so excited and will be hiking alone. Thanks to
everyone in advance. :D

Hi Spurlock, without wanting to discourage you, how about you start with the FAQ section, then ask specific questions you have?

Hi Spurlock,
You will be arriving by yourself, but you will never walk alone unless you wish to. There will be lots of other people from all over the world to talk to and walk with if you wish.
Start slowly and increase distances as you become accustomed to walking and the pack you are carrying. By the time you reach Santiago you will easily be able to walk 20 - 30 kms a day. Buen Camino. David

Hi Spurlock,
I'm also planning my first Camino for April/May 2014. I've been reading through this brilliant and endless site for the last 2 months just gathering as much information and knowledge as I can. I love the energy, sentiment and passion from people all over the world posting here that it does nothing short of inspiring me to work towards my challenging goal of getting to walk the Camino. I'm looking forward to going on my own but realising I won't be alone. I never realised the numbers that complete the walk these days, it's quite amazing.
Cheers Alex

Hi,

I made a youtube video for people like you giving some basic advice, it's linked in my signature if you'd like to check it out. :)

Buen camino,
