Hello All,
Do you think it is wise to book the 12 o'clock train to Oporto from the Oriente station after arriving from NYC at 10:30 am? As a non EU member, I would be passing through customs and immigration, also carrying a checked backpack. Are lines typically long in the Lisbon airport? Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

I think that's close. You will arrive in the main terminal, Terminal 1, but it is big. Luggage usually comes out pretty quickly, but not always. 10:30 am is a pretty heavy traffic time at the airport. A taxi to Oriente will take about 10 minutes in light traffic. Finding where to go up to the train track and which train track to go to could take another 10 or 15 minutes. That leaves an hour for you to be at the curb getting into a taxi. If the stars align right, you could do it. Do you need to book it in advance? I think the smartest thing is to rush to get there and see what time you arrive. If you then have to wait for a while, you are located right at the Expo site with its nice river walk, cafes and restaurants, cable car ride, and a great aquarium.

Olá,

after 12 o´clock there are 11 more trains to Porto ! Take it easy and don´t book in advance. I often go from Lisboa to Porto by train - no train was booked out ever. Well, on one train I had to take first class. It was 12 € more.
