Camino Francés - May 2015
Hi there, fellow pilgrims!

My name is Ryan and I begin the Camino Francés in just a few days. I've just finished my baccalaureate degree in philosophy here in Montréal, Canada and I'm looking forward to spending time away from school.

I hope to keep a video blog on YouTube which will document my progress along the Camino, and I'll try to link to it here in this thread (when I get it going).

I'm doing the Camino to challenge myself, build self-confidence/esteem, and find direction in my life. I'm afraid of bedbugs, being perceived as rude or boring, and how I'll adapt as a vegetarian in ham & tuna-loving rural northern Spain.

I had planned on a more hedonistic Euro-Trip after graduation but I think this will be more lastingly valuable.

My first language is English and my French is pretty good, but I'm just starting to learn (Castilian) Spanish through Duolingo.com. I'm a proud new member of l'Association québécoise des pèlerins et amis du Chemin de Saint-Jacques, so that's the badge that I'll be sporting on my backpack.

Please introduce yourself if you see me along the way.

Buen camino!

Good morning Ryan,
Greetings from Ireland. I begin walking from SJPP the day before you. It's normal to have some reservations before you begin but your camino aspirations already show you have direction and maturity. Enjoy every minute of your journey, it will change you for the better and you will go home a different person.
Regards,
Gerard.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Ryan, you will have a great time. I probably don't meet up with you because I'm already 3 days on my way now . Wish you a Buen Camino, Peter.
