When you send your excess baggage ahead, do they require you to make a list of whats inside?

I have no choice but to put my laptop inside as it is heavy if I have to drag it along with me on my walk.

Has anyone sent their laptop ahead of time?

Who are "They"? If it is one of the pilgrim transport services then the answer is no. If it is the Correos then I think it may depend on the service and insurance you buy. (Don't know, haven't done it.)

I would prefer if I don't have to make a list. It's better if they don't know whats inside my luggage

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Do the pilgrim transport services also xray them?
I hope only the correo

Then I would send it thru the pilgrims transport.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I would never send a "DELICATE" electronic device by any public service. No matter how much you try to protect it there is a chance someone will toss it into a truck or van. Now it's broken and Boo Hoo!

I don't think anyone X-rays anything through the normal mail.
I assume you will be posting from your starting point to Santiago for pickup at the end of your Camino.
Ivar (the Admin of this Forum) has a luggage storage service that is very secure and reliable. You have to get it to him through the post, usually.
Buying insurance makes very good sense if you have valuables in forwarded luggage by the post office or other means. It will be handled in a more secure manner.

Yeah but I could not add more to my already heavy backpack
I will just wrap it with bubble wrap put it in the center of my luggage.

No. Sorry, I missed that specific in your post. However, unless the luggage is securely locked, the baggage services will have the ability and leisure time to go through it.

Are you asking this question about carry-on luggage on a plane or some service like Jacotrans on the Camino? I'm a little mystified by your question.

Sorry, I'm asking about sending stuff from SJpdp to santiago. I will still handcarry my laptop when flying. But will not carry it when doing the camino.

Assuming you are using Ivar to forward your stuff to SdC, I'd ask him for his advice about the security and recommended packaging.
