Time of past OR future Camino
planning do the camino in september-october 2015
hellow,

me and my freind do the camino in september, but have really short time (+- 19 days). we would like to get to the Compostela and also cotinue to the ocean. since we dont have a lot of time we would like to be as planned as posiible , so few questions about transportaion and route:

1. what transport is the best from Barcelona to Pampelona - bus/train/flight ? busses - what is the location of the bus station and frequency - if someone knows ? do we need to buy the tickets a day in advance? how long is the ride in each way?

2. how do we get from pampelona to Saint Jean? time and location of bus/train? frequency? ride long?

3. if we have in total around 15-17 days of walk, what parts are recommanded to skip?and should we skip the part from Saint Jean to pmapelona or the part from the Compostella to the ocean?

thanks!
adi

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi, Adi,
Welcome to the forum! I probably can't answer all your questions, but here is a start.

1. Check out these threads dealing with transportation from Barcelona-Pamplona.
https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/barcelona-to-pamplona.19170/

https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...e-way-to-pamplona-barcelona-madrid-bil.11689/

I was surprised this summer to find how quickly the trains fill up. Book as far in advance as you can.

If you do a search on the forum, using the box in the upper right, you'll find more threads with info on this topic. For most up to date train info, check renfe.com For bus, check movelia.es

2. There are lots of threads on Pamplona to St. Jean, too

3. With 15-17 days you are probably going to have to make some hard choices. I think you are going to have to skip more than SJPP to Pamplona and Compostela to the ocean. There are a few forum members who have walked SJPP to Santiago in 23 days but that's not the usual. Do you have any idea how many kms you would want to walk a day?

Have fun planning your camino, buen camino, Laurie

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

thank y

thank you very much for the quick respond.
i think we will go around 30 KM a day...
if you have a recomandation for that this will be great! thanks.

I would suggest starting in Leon, walking 14 days to Santiago, then three days more to Fisterra or Muxia.

thanks for the quick respond! sounds like a good advice, i will check it out.
