I am not sure if this weather is typical in the Salamanca region but has been colder than anticipated. It snowed just south of Salamanca last night. Today's temp is just 4C.
My theory is that this temp is responsible for so many people suffering from cold. You can hear people coughing everywhere. The priest used his handkerchief to wipe his nose a few times during the mass.
Be prepared for all kinds of weather.

Oh dear, not what I wanted read about either type of cold as I start from Salamanca next week. Thanks for the live post.

If you did not like yesterday's weather, today is even worse. Steady rain in the morning with the temperature of 4 degrees. Did not realize how windy it was until after I left the urban area. Buildings blocked winds so did not know until got out of the city. Everyone was walking along the road instead of the marked path because it is so muddy and slippery.

Wise Peregrinos are on the buses today at least a part of the way.
The weather forecast for next week does not look much better. Be prepared.

I lost my backpack cover three days ago and had been using a garbage bag to cover until I got to Salamanca. I paid 12 Euro for one and thought it was expensive. But it was one of good investments, or I won't have any dry clothes to change into today.

The weather for those choosing to walk the Sanabres, the weather is currently very cold with wind and snow off and on from Asturianos. Today the walk to Lubian included heavy snowfall most of the way. If you walk from Requejo de Sanabria, after Padornelo there’s a detour sign for the Camino to the left and a road sign to Lubian to the right. If the weather is poor take the road. My sister and I took the detour and ended up passed Lubian and had to double back. It would have been a nice walk in good weather, but not with cold wind and snow.

Your weather reports are making me feel cold, I start the beginning of Feb next year, hopefully it will be lovely weather all the way through to SDC. I think I might have to rethink an extra layer.

Hmm brrr. Thanks for all the updates. I hope you are all warm and dry now and you get some better weather. I will bring a couple of extra layers I think.
