Fifty Trail shelters threaten to close this year. Their owners complain about the industry regulation that aims to make the Board
Representatives from the Youth Hostel Network of Castilla y León del Camino Francés at Astorga threatened yesterday with a "temporary closure or step" of fifty lodges of Burgos, Palencia and León. The network, which as such representatives, brings together private shelters, municipal or privately run run 'associations of friends of the Camino de Santiago', protesting the regulation of the sector they want to apply the Castilla y León.

"The Board wants to force a set price to people who have invested in businesses and created jobs," said Linares, "We can not survive on the money they put in as a donation: five euros and almost the same qualities a hostel. Linares said that these institutions feel "discriminated" against with respect to municipal shelters and ecclesiastical character "guarantees." He said the network shelters offer assistance to the pilgrims' throughout the day, "and demanded a fixed schedule of opening and closing also common for mentioned above.

Linares claimed "at least seven euros' contribution by each pilgrim, and indicated that, of not getting positive response from the Board, the network would implement the announced closure" as a last resort, because it is not desirable, "he said. The spokesman for the group also listed the requirements that the Administration requires such establishments, and said: "It is unthinkable that a low cost it is a disservice to the pilgrim, it encourages a lot beggar throw the Camino de Santiago" . Linares said that so far no Administration had legislated the industry and now is "something that was untouchable and had worked perfectly" and that the regulation "is not agreed with the alma mater of Way, which are the shelters. The spokesman predicted the demise of many refugees' shelters shall be clergy and pilgrims will come, "he said
