I found November to be an all weathers occasion. Come prepared.

If you sleep cold take a sleeping bag. Because, not all the albergues will turn on the heat.

Each night ask the hospitaleros which albergues are open. You may have to walk a few extra steps to find one.

This is a wonderful time to go. Fewer amenities open, fewer pilgrims on the way, but enough of both to really enjoy yourself.

Many albergues in both France and Spain are closed from El Día de Todos los Santos - All Saints/Souls Day including the Orisson Albergue so check your planned stops well ahead of time - The Church Saint Mary of Eunate is open, worth the detour but watch the hours.. The weather is a'changing so come an early heavy snowstorm and you may not even be allowed to set out from SJPP - in any case bring your long-johns! Spanish food in the winter is quite hardy, just what is needed.
