Flew into Bilboa due to limited number of days to have on the comino del norte- facts- no money exchange at airport; not able to use cirrus cash card in northern spain- stayed at holiday inn express with shuttle from airport to get over jet lag from Montana in US- excellent place-bus to downtown Bilboa was only about 2 euros- taxi is 30. Weather on march 7 sunny about 65/70 degrees. Visited Guggenheim museum and area- not to missed. Old city where Santiago cathedral located was beautiful though no one there could answer questions about the camino. Found the pilgrims office close by but only open on Tuesday and Thursdays. Went to tourist information office and they were very helpful and spoke English. They use to have book on northern camino route but do not carry it anymore but will email it to you. It's e best one I have found so far that gives info on each of the towns on the route. Will bus to Santander and the Gijon and begin walking there In next couple of days.
