It's a tough hike. Our daughter has done some of it.

It was on my "bucket list", but I said I needed to do it before age 70 (the first day climb going south is a tough one!). . . . then Covid came and in the meantime I just turned 71. In my many years of hiking, it has been THE most recommended hike that I have heard about; but unfortunately, it won't be happening in this lifetime!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Did it many years ago. Hot and dry but not especially difficult. I was passed many times by foreign legion recruits from Camp Rafelli (spelling?) near Calvi working very hard indeed; I recall that every one greeted me on the way past.

I thought about it, when I was at the top of my form, decades ago -- when I realised I was hiking as well or better than the PCT veterans, had their respect, and realised I was capable of that too -- but truth is, I just don't like mountain hiking, and that's that. But I do enjoy watching videos of those who love it, thinking, eh, if not for personal taste ...
