Hi folks - if anyone has done some or all of this Grande Randonee, I’d love to hear about your experiences. Is the trail marked continuously the whole way? How is the gite/auberge/lodging situation. Etc., etc.?

Best time and section to stroll in late September or early October? I’m looking at 6 to 8 weeks. Any rough or dangerous stretches? Is it a route ‘less travelled?’

After a hiatus of three years, I’m not as fit as I’d like to be, but I hope I’ll get back into form after a few days.

Merci bien!

lunna,
If you write the term GR34 in the search box at the top of this page you will find several earlier forum posts regarding this French trail.

Good luck with your planning and Carpe diem.

Thank you! As a follow up question: I've walked along the Voie Littorale from Bayonne to Irun (and then the camino del norte all the way across to SdC, but is there a long haul north-south coastal walk from Northern France (the same Voie Littorale?), or a recommended set of GRs to follow?

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
