Helping Albertagirl with Maps!

I made another earlier promise to look at how and if other people's mymaps files persist when using Google Maps. This was going to be difficult but now that @David Tallan has produced this combined mymaps file it has become much easier for me, thanks again David

Once I have created the new routes in mymaps I prefer to use them from within Google Maps because G Maps is so much more powerful for searching and for it's other features.

I can access my own mymaps files from within G Maps but I wasn't sure if that also applied to other people's mymaps files like the one created by David. It looks like I need not have worried. Provided that you have opened David's file at least once within your own copy of mymaps (by clicking on his link) then his files remain within G Maps.

On an Android phone running G Maps, start the Maps application and touch Saved down the bottom of the screen.

Then scroll right down to the bottom and touch the Maps link

Then scroll until you find David's map and touch it.

In this particular case, David's map is at the top and so it is easy to find but it looks like every new map that you create with mymaps is put at the top and pushes everything else down and so it may not stay at the top.

Fortunately, David has given it a good, meaningful name and so it should always be easy to find even if it is not at the top!

Oh noooo.
I'm hopeless about tech help. @David Tallan?

And David, duh...you're right. There is the Olvidado, in plain sight. About the Viejo, the best option for getting those tracks without Wikiloc in the middle would be to contact @caminka to see if she still has the files.

I've sent her a message asking for the Viejo files. In the meantime, I've found and added the Camino de Asturias, which also goes from Pamplona to Oviedo, although not via the Olvidado it seems. Ito should be the purple route on the map.

An android.
Okay, make sure that the search bar at the top of the screen is empty. The menu at the bottom only appears when the search bar is clear.

If the search bar is clear then tell me is at the bottom of your screen?

You are on a slightly older version. Try the hamburger menu icon on the top left and/or check in the Play store to see if there is an update for you.

No. I updated manually, though, just to be certain - and there was no change. Never mind, @Doughnut NZ . It's just one of those things. I appreciate your help, though!
I am on a Beta version of Maps but I am certain that there are other production versions out there that have the menu that I described. Perhaps @David Tallan or @Rick of Rick and Peg have your version and can tell you how to access David's map from within G Maps.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
My app also has the Saved icon in the middle. But I dont have the For You icon. Maybe it is hiding behind that?
