Not planning a pilgrimage anytime soon, but I have to admit that I am absolutely obsessed with the idea of making a pilgrimage. God willing, within the next 5 years or so, I will be able to join some of you on the Camino.

Welcome to the forum. I think that we human beings are hot wired to go on pilgrimage. All the great religions have have histories of pilgrimage. In some sense you have already begun.
May I suggest that you learn some Spanish during these years. A knowledge of Spanish is not only useful for day to day living. It weighs nothing and will greatly enrich the whole experience.
