Hello, just to introduce myself, I will be starting my camino from SJPD 30 April 2008. I have done several long distance walks before, however having just retired I am now able to spend five weeks on the camino. I will be saying overnight in Dublin on the 28 April, can anyone recomend a place to stay near the airport.

Tonys.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Welcome to the forum Tony, I hope it will help you out in your planning. Not sure about the Hotel in Dublin, hopefully we have a member in that area that can help you out.

Greetings from Santiago de Compostela,
Ivar

There are a number of airport hotels. The Holiday Inn Express is one I can think of, all the Crown Plaza's facilities are next door. Most of the airport hotels have buses which pick up from an area well signposted in front of the airport buildings.

It is not far into town but I assume you want an airport hotel because of a flight at some unsociable time of day.

Thank you for that information, and a quick response. I have been looking at this forum for quite some time and have found the equipment discussions very helpfull in deciding my pack list. I am still uncertain regarding my boots. Brasher boots have taken me all over and I am on my third pair without and blisters in over 12 years, and I am reluctant to change, even if the are leather boots.
Tony.

I too use Brasher boots and like you without blisters. Mine are the Supalite GTX and I would not change them.

As you have seen there are as many opinions as there are posts about boots on this forum and each of them is right for the person posting them. Keep on doing what works for you.

Buen Camino

Hi Tony,
Where are you flying to ? Have you decided where you'll start in Dublin?
I fly to Santander on June 29, then travel by bus to Santa Domingo, to continue on where I left off last year. On my short camino this year I hope to get to somewhere between Mansilla and Leon.
Enjoy your retirement

Buen Camino
