I'm told that after 6 months "healing" my fractured hip will need to be replaced soon due to traumatic arthritis. Having walked part of the Camino de Levante (Avila to Santiago) in 2015, I can feel Spain calling. Already in the planning stage, having been put off by a number of medical interruptions. Have any of you nice people walked the Primitivio after a replacement? A possible added complication may be that by the time I've recovered and on my way from Sydney to Oviedo I will be in my 81st year. I'm a lifetime bushwalker and cyclist, or was until I came off my bike last September and fractured my pelvis quite badly.
If we agree that specific treatments will facilitate a return to active fitness, and persue recovery with active diligence, we can only hope for a successful outcome.
That's about it cobber.
Only time will tell, no matter how hopeful we are.
Tomorrow at 10.15am I'm to consult a specialist on the use of CBD OIL in the treatment of pain.
A plague of hip, spine, neck and heart ailments, have been joined by arthritis in the feet and hands.
The oil seems to be a hopeful alternative, or addition to drugs, which are now ineffective and dangerous because of the quantities required to only hopefully, gasp, attain some pain mediation.
I did give the CBD oil a serious, if unscientific, try a few years back, before the arthritis set in.
Surprising good results altho not considered a sufficient replacement for the then, current treatment.
However, those drugs, along with diet and lifestyle changes, are not now coping with the arthritic onslaught.
Wish me luck.
Regards
Gerard
PS. Gave up on the biking after a crash on the Danube tow path ride from Germany to Vienna. Maybe a tricycle?
Hope springs eternal for a real Pilgrim.
Ultreia!
Hi Dave,Gerard, here is wishing, hoping, and praying for a successful (or at least tolerable) solution to your pain issues. I am very interested in the outcome of your consult, and the progress you make with the treatment choices provided.
